A Message Meant Just For You

Slowly I am catching up on reading my favourite blogs.  Opening Fabric Garden a little over a month ago has been wonderful.  If you have stopped by - thank you.  Our web site will be up and running in the not to distant future - when that happens I will let you know here.

In the middle of the Fabric Garden Adventure my mother's health has continually declined.  She who was one of my biggest supporters from the inception of Fabric Garden has never seen the shop.  She now is in hospice and struggling with the loss of her independence and that she is not going to be going home.  So many of you have faced these same experiences with your mothers, so many of you have learned the lessons my sisters and step sister are learning now.  Each of us, but one, live in a different city, and we share the latest needs and changes via email and phone, as each of us takes a turn flying to be there with her.

Sitting for a bit this evening and reading blogs was meant to be - I read Becky's post at Sweet Cottage Dreams and it was just as if her post was for me.  I got to pondering and thought that you might think the same after you read her thoughts from her heart.

Take a moment to follow this link - it will not take long to read Becky's post and just maybe it will lift you, as it did me, just when I needed it most.

Tomorrow I am going to buy some flowers!  Thanks Becky!

Gran, I am so sorry to hear of your mother. Your heart must hurt so much. I understand your angst...I do. When I wrote this post, I had some other blog friends in mind, not knowing that you are walking a difficult road as well. Know that I am here for you if you ever want to just talk. As for your lovely shop, I will get up there this summer. I am so proud of you!!

Hold your head up high and go and buy those flowers!!! We just need a little flower power sometimes.

xxoo

Hugs dear friend....I think of you often and know all too well what you are going through. Sometimes life just isn't picture perfect but it is what it is and we make the best of it.
I heard a saying something like this the other day: We have two lives. Our past life and our present life...."I choose to live in the present."

My daughter is the Director of Hospice in her hometown...she started our as a hospice nurse and loved it. She gained so much from the patients and their families..
Know that the hospice keeps your Mother first in their hearts...

So sorry to hear about your Mom.. Becky and I have been friends for a couple of years now and she is such an inspiration.. I took care of my mom and dad for 8 years and lost them both last fall 72 days apart.. I really thought the grief would kill me..... BUT HE is faithful to cover us with HIS grace and hold us while we weep....... I will remember you in my prayers..

So sorry about your mom. I have been down that road with my mom and know how painful it can be. Buy flowers or whatever it takes each day to add a little sunshine to your day. Hugs to you and your family. Judy B

Gran,
I have been thinking of you often but life has been a bit crazy with year end things.
Do you think that your mom would like a visitor? I would be happy to try and visit her if you think she would enjoy it and be up to it. School is out this week on Thursday for the summer so I would have some time to do that.
Let me know what you think.
Warmest regards,
Anna

Shirley,
I just visited your Blog today. You have alot of crafty ideas. My sister, Mona, told me about it, and she said that the two of you use to go to the same quilting group called Bear Paws. She said you were one of the nicest people you could meet. Me and my daughteres just started a new blog, and we would love it if you could visit us and follow. The link is: http://redrosealley.blogspot.com Hope to hear from you, and have a sweet day.

Shirley,
Thank you for stopping by Red Rose Alley. Mona told me that your dear mother has been ill. I didn't know. We both went through that a couple years ago, so I know very well how upsetting it is. I wanted to give you a big hug, and tell you I'm thinking about you.

I'm sorry for your troubles. I've been thinking recently how it will be when my Mom is no longer hale and hearty, as we had a scare over her health sixweeks ago. I just can't imagine how it will be, but it must be 'foundation shaking'. I'll be holding you and yours in my thoughts alright, you need all the strength you can be given I reckon.

Hugs to you . Somewhere along the line I lost my connection to your blog.....so I will have to catch up and see all about your new shop.
I am enjoying a vacation this week... And I think I have nice weather too !! Going to do a little sewing at the lake cabin.
